Old QUICK Book: Two-Factor Authentication

QuickBooks, an accounting software package developed and marketed by Intuit, allows you to keep track of financial functions like income and expenses, employee expenses, and inventory in real-time. It was first introduced in 1992, and QuickBooks products are geared mainly toward small businesses.

To enhance security, QuickBooks offers two-factor authentication, ensuring your financial data is protected.

The following steps will walk you through enabling and using two-factor authentication (2FA) with QuickBooks Accounting Software:

Step 1: Open your QuickBooks account and log in.

Navigate to the QuickBooks login page by opening your web browser.

Kindly provide your login credentials to access your QuickBooks account, Click on your profile in the dashboard’s upper right corner.

Step 2: Click on Manage your Intuit Account

Step Three: Click the Sign-in & Security Tab, which is on the left side of the screen.

Step4: Make Two-Factor Authentication Available

The Two-Factor Authentication area can be found under the Sign-in & Security page. Scroll down

The Two-Factor Authentication button has a Turn-On button. Click on it.

Step Five: Select Your 2FA Authentication Method

Usually, QuickBooks provides multiple 2FA methods:

  • Authenticator App (Suggested): This one requires utilizing an app such as Authy or Google Authenticator.
  • SMS Text Message: You receive a code on your cell phone through text message.

Using Text Messages with SMS: 2FA

  • Choose the SMS option.

  • Input the number from your mobile device.
  • QuickBooks will text a six-digit verification code to your phone.

  • To confirm and finish the setup, enter this code into QuickBooks.
  • Validate and Save
  • QuickBooks will verify that 2FA is enabled once you enter the code from the SMS.
  • If prompted, be sure to save any changes.

To verify again, sign in with your username and password

You Will receive an SMS with a code

Enter the verification code, and click Continue

Congratulations, Your 2FA Is now set up
