Secure your amazon account with two-factor authentication.

On Amazon, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) improves account security by adding a second verification step, blocking unwanted access attempts, and protecting private data. Users may rest easy knowing that their Amazon accounts are safe from potential attacks and intrusions.

We advise adding two-step verification, also referred to as multi-factor authentication (MFA), to your account in order to further secure it. When you enable two-step verification, every time you log into Amazon using your password, you’ll receive a security code on your phone, which you must also enter in order to access your account. In other words, if your password is stolen, nobody will be able to access your account using just your password.

Here’s how you can set up 2FA for your Amazon account:

Sign in to Amazon.com, click Account & Lists, and then click Your Account.

On your Amazon account page, click Login & security

Go to the “Login & security” area and select “Two-Step Verification” or “Two-Factor Authentication.” Selecting this option will start the setup procedure.

Select Verification Method: There are other ways to use 2FA offered by Amazon, such as sending an SMS, using an authenticator app, or utilizing a security key. Pick the approach that most closely matches your preferences.

By utilizing a smartphone authenticator app: Click.

Install the latest version of the authenticator app, launch it on your phone (or get one from the App Store or Play Store), add an account, and scan the barcode that appears. After entering the code created by the authenticator app or given to your phone number, click Verify code to proceed.

Confirmation:

Amazon will verify that Two-Step Verification has been enabled for your account when you have successfully entered the verification code.

Click Got it.

Turn on Two-Step Verification. after selecting if you want to enter verification codes on the device you’re using on the “Almost done…” page.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully turned on Two-Step Verification on your Amazon account.
